Role Overview
Opexor is looking for an experienced Asset & Configuration Management Specialist to establish, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) while managing the complete lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
The role ensures Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships remain accurate, supports Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes, and ensures compliance with the SAMA IT Governance Framework (ITGF) and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and manage the CMDB, including CI types, attributes, naming standards, and relationship models.
- Establish configuration baselines and enforce configuration control processes.
- Maintain CMDB data quality through discovery tools, scheduled audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Perform CI impact analysis to support Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Manage the complete IT asset lifecycle from procurement to disposal.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software asset inventories and perform regular reconciliations.
- Track software licenses and ensure license compliance.
- Ensure secure decommissioning and disposal of IT assets in line with security policies.
- Monitor and report on asset and configuration KPIs, including CMDB accuracy, asset utilization, and audit compliance.
- Maintain documentation and evidence to support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with the SAMA IT Governance Framework (ITGF) and organizational asset governance standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Asset Management, Configuration Management, or IT Service Delivery (Specialist), or 6 to 8+ years including CMDB/ITAM process ownership in a regulated environment (Senior Specialist).
- Hands-on experience with CMDB/ITAM/ITSM platforms such as Jira, Insight, ServiceNow, or equivalent, including discovery tooling.
- Strong knowledge of data reconciliation, reporting, and analysis using Advanced Excel, with SQL/BI reporting considered an advantage.
- Experience in banking, fintech, or other SAMA-regulated environments is preferred.
- Good understanding of SAMA regulations, particularly the IT Governance Framework (ITGF), asset/configuration management, and information asset controls.
- Strong analytical skills with a data reconciliation mindset and high attention to detail.
- Process-oriented approach with audit readiness and strong documentation practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is preferred.
Required Certifications
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification (required or to be obtained) for Specialist level.
- ITIL v4 with Asset/Configuration specialization or a recognized IT Asset Management certification (e.g., CSAM/CHAMP) preferred for Senior Specialist level.
